After 26 years of complex civil litigation, with an emphasis in legal malpractice and accounting malpractice cases, Paul switched to mediation. He has a broad base of experience, including work on three nine-figure lawsuits. He has argued before the United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and before the Colorado and Delaware Supreme Courts and has handled cases in eight additional jurisdictions. He has been lead counsel in over 20 one-week to two-week jury trials and has eleven published decisions, including six decisions concerning legal malpractice law.

Early in his career, Paul worked on major personal injury cases, including insurance coverage disputes. He graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law (Law Review) in 1992 and earned his B.S.B.A. from the University of Denver (magna cum laude) in 1989.
